Contrary to its name, Buckwheat is not wheat but is actually considered a fruit because of its connection with the rhubarb family. After years of research, we learned of its flowering benefits to bees, its value to weed suppression in the field, its phosphorous and potassium building ability for soil, and its impressive nutritional value for people. Although extremely inexperienced in the farming department, we were ecstatic to grow Buckwheat and eventually provide our family and our community with an organic gluten-free product that would provide optimum nutrition for people of all ages.
